Our Falconry Experiences are held in San Diego. Owl Experiences are happening in Ramona. All experiences are family-friendly and can be booked online. For groups over 12 participants and corporate team building please send us an email for custom programs and additional dates.

Q: How long does a Falconry Experience lasts?
A: At Total Raptor Experience, all our falconry experiences typically last around 2 hours.
Q: What does a Falconry Experience entail?
A: We typically start our experience with an introductory briefing on falconry and birds of prey, followed by a hands-on session where you will handle and free-fly multiple times both our falcons and our hawks under the guidance of our expert biologists and bird trainers. This immersive experience is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of these majestic birds, their behavior, and the essential conservation efforts required to protect them. Note that the duration may slightly vary depending on group size and importantly, on what the birds what to do that day.
Q: Can I take pictures?
A: Yes, you are welcome to use your phone or camera, our birds don't mind. We will also make some time for a photo session throughout the experience.
Q: Where are Falconry Experiences held?
A: Our Falconry Experiences are held at the historic Torrey Pines Gliderport, on the La Jolla cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, just a short 20-minute drive from the San Diego International Airport and downtown. Our location (https://share.google/u8OKkw9aLgGSAZJ83)offers an incredibly scenic backdrop for our experiences, and a safe free-flying environment for our birds.
The Torrey Pines Gliderport has a cafe, full bar, and free parking.
Q: Is there a dress requirement at Total Raptor Experience?
A: Just dress comfortably and according to the weather. We recommend comfortable shoes as you will be walking on a somewhat uneven grass field. Hats, sunglasses are ok, if you need to put on sunscreen please do it before you arrive. We will provide falconry gloves to participants..
Q: I have mobility issues, can I participate?
A: Yes, we can have participants with walkers or wheelchairs, as long as we alerted in advance. It is helpful to have someone else in the same group that can assist with moving around the grass area. Specifically for wheelchairs, there will be a need for someone to help push it up a little slope at the end of the experience. The staff at Total Raptor Experience can help as well, as long as you let us know in advance.
