Total Raptor eXperience offers a Falconry School program and customizable Raptor Encounters ton he coastal bluffs of La Jolla overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean or your location.

 

We offer 15% commission on all sales of our private group events

Bookings

 

Our programs can be booked in advance by phone at 619-535-7307 or by email to info@totalraptorexperience.com.

Bookings require a 50% non–refundable deposit. All participants, or their legal guardians, are required to sign a waiver for our activities. Programs may be cancelled with a full refund in the rare advent of extremely adverse weather (very high winds or heavy rain).

Option 1:

 

Falcon Flight Experience:

 

1.5 hours (generally 9am-10:30am)

$77 per participant, for 10 - 15 participants

 

• Our expert interpreters will allow one of our falcons to fly free between participants’ hand-held perches.

• Falcons perform aerobatic lure-flying through and around participants.

• Discussions include flight ecology, behavior, and conservation of soaring birds.

• Plenty of time for photos with the birds!

• Larger groups can be accommodated, with groups of up to 15 rotating through the interactive part of the program (additional 30 minutes required for each additional group).

 

 

Option 2:

 

Introduction to Falconry

 

1.5 hours (generally 9am-10:30am)

$77 per participant, for 10 - 15 participants

 

• Our falconry instructors will instruct students on the use of a falconry glove and the basics of raptor handling.

• Harris’ Hawks fly free between participants’ gloves.

• Falcons perform aerobatic lure-flying through and around participants.

• Discussions include the history of falconry, modern partnerships between mankind and birds of prey, and the unique physiological adaptations of raptors for flight and hunting.

• Plenty of time for photos with the birds!

• Larger groups can be accommodated, with groups of up to 15 rotating through the interactive part of the program (additional 30 minutes required for each additional group).

Option 3

 

Falcon, hawk, and owl encounter.

 

2 hours

$100 per participant, for 10-30 participants

 

• Falconry demonstration with free-flying falcons and hawks flying between our trainers.

• Falcons perform aerobatic lure-flying.

• Extended opportunity to “hang out” with diverse birds of prey, to experience their personalities, and to learn about what makes each of them unique and special.

• Each participant will be given the opportunity to experience one of our falcons or hawks flying to them and landing on a hand-held perch.

• Participants can meet and greet all of our birds, take pictures with them, or just sit with them and experience their unique personalities. Our expert handlers will gladly answer any and all questions about the birds and offer fascinating insights into their ecology, physiology, and behavior.
