Falconry Experiences in La Jolla

All our Falconry Experiences are interactive. They can be booked as part of a group, with a maximum of 12 participants, or privately. Experiences will last between 1.5 and 2 hours and the program is mostly decided by our birds, who have minds of their own. Falconry Experiences are held at the historical Torrey Pines Gliderport on the cliffs of La Jolla.

Please read our description, as well as our booking and refund policy before choosing your Experience. For larger groups, contact us to customize your event.  We require that children 12 and younger sign up with one adult. 

How to book: choose your experience, select " book now" and scroll the calendar to select the day/time that works for you. Click 'next' and enter your information. Use the scroll down menu to choose the number of tickets. If you are booking a Private Experience, use the scroll-down menu next to the calendar to customize the size of your private group.

After booking: you will receive a confirmation email containing details of your booking and a link to our online waiver. Please read it and sign the waiver well before arriving on location. A similar reminder email will also be sent 24h before your class. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact us.

Covid19: We'll follow social distancing rules for outdoors activities and sanitation protocols as mandated by Cal/OSHA.

 Experiences FAQ

  • No previous experience is required

  • Bring a smile and an adventurous attitude

  • Dress in layers, wear closed toe shoes

  • Remember your sunscreen

  • You may use a camera during the free flight exhibition

  • Contact us by email or by phone to customize your encounter

  • Customers with special needs should contact us a week in advance

  • We do not allow observers in Ramona

  • We can customize both in La Jolla and Ramona Experiences for larger groups or team building

  • We can host Encounters in other suitable location if safe for our birds

Terms and Conditions:

  • We will reserve your activity upon receipt of full payment. 

  • Children 12 and under must sign up with one adult.

  • Due to the limited number of spots per class, we request that you cancel a group class or a Private Class 2 weeks in advance in order to obtain a refund. 

  • We'll accept cancellation requests received via email within two weeks to 48 hours from the existing appointment and we will offer you to rebook your class, or credit in the form of a Gift Certificate. Cancellation requests received less than 48 hours from the appointment or no shows will not be accepted and may be forfeit.

  • Refunds will undergo a handling fee equal to the processing fee which is typically 2.9% +30c.

  • Gift Cards and Gift Certificates will not be refunded.

  • We reserve the right to cancel reservations at any moment on the basis of unsafe wheather conditions or safety concerns for our handlers or our birds. 

  • If, due to weather or to other safety reasons, we cannot provide the activity on the agreed upon date, we will reschedule to a later date. 

  • Dogs may not be present during any part of the activity as they may scare the raptors.

  • We do our best to hold our experiences as described but our raptors have strong opinions, weather may change suddenly and other external factors beyond our control may affect our experiences. 

  • Participants and observers are required to acknowledge the risks associated with the activity and sign a third-party release form.

  • Total Raptor Experience, its owners, employees or sponsors shall be under no liability whatsoever to a student for any loss, injury or damage sustained while in class, regardless of where the class takes place, whether in respect of any negligent act or omission by the school or employees.
