Weather madness, our falcons loved it!!

Crazy 40mph crosswind for last week's Falconry experience, many thanks to our guests, who braved the wind and joined us in beautiful La Jolla!! Corona the Lanner falcon discovered some coastal thermals, soared up to cloud base, and spent the afternoon cruising all over north San Diego county. Our other hard-working birds provided education and entertainment for our students while we attempted to track Corona. He finally came home just before sunset, likely after realizing a really big storm was coming in fast. Having retrieved him a quarter mile from Torrey Pines Gliderport, he got to fly like a kite while I carried him back home into the whipping wind.
