East winds !

A week of crazy weather in San Diego, with strong winds from all directions and a touch of thunder and lightning, provided fun challenges for our soaring raptors. Here, Bunco the Lanner Falcon does a knife-edge turn along the rail of the Gliderport porch and a bit of cliff-diving, while Logan the Harris’s Hawk flies to a student in the lee of the ‘Port in a strong east wind. The adaptability of our birds and diversity of weather makes our falconry classes in La Jolla different every day, one of the things that keeps our birds, our handlers, and our students happy to be here every day!
